We are online !!!
« on: July 24, 2007, 03:26:25 PM »
Welcome to the Brighton Anxiety Forum!

The site is now finally operational!

Some very minor problems are being ironed out at the moment but they are mainly cosmetic. Please inform me of any problems with the forum and I will try my hardest to resolve them ASAP.

Most importantly .......

I hope that this site can become a useful resource for us all.

Regards,
Noisy.  ;D

Welcome to all our new members. Yes, both of you. ;D

The site seems to be generating more interest now that we can be found through various search engines and forums. Hopefully the membership will grow steadily along with it's content. I know that it seems a little empty at the moment but with patience and perseverance I'm sure that this forum will a become a great place to socialise and find support.

Publicity seems to be the next logical step and I've been working hard behind the scenes (screens?) to get noticed by the people who may want to visit. It's harder and slower than I envisaged but we're moving in the right directions.

The most difficulty seems to be in getting a direct search result with Google and Yahoo but other prominent sites are linking here and they already rank highly with google.  ;)

Another challenge is communicating directly with local NHS service users via posters and leaflets.  These things usually have to be approved by managers and this all takes time.

Best wishes,
Martin.

Posters approved for Day Hospital
« Reply #2 on: August 31, 2007, 09:57:20 AM »
Hi,
I've just heard that the Brighton Anxiety Forum posters and leaflets have been approved for display at the 'Brighton Day Hospital'. This should mean that some more people with anxiety issues become aware of our site and will hopefully join us.
Attracting new members is very beneficial since it will mean that the content of the site will be changing more often which then attracts the attention of the search engines.

So far, this site is a first page result for various search terms with Google but not yet through other search engines. (Google is the most widely used.)

I'm still waiting for replies from other prominent websites that may wish to link to us. This may take up to 2 weeks but will be a great help towards gaining the publicity we need to thrive!

Best wishes,
Martin :)

Hello Martin,

Do you think a small poster on GP surgery notice boards is viable?  My wife has a list of all the surgery addresses (not the email addresses though unfortunately).

Just a thought.

Peter

Hi Peter,

That's an excellent idea!

I'll contact my own surgery and see what they say first. I don't want to send out dozens of Posters if they have to be approved by the local authority/PCT first. I'll get started right away!
I'd also like to see posters and leaflets at Mill View, Wish Day Hospital and St Peter's Place.

I'm attending the Brighton Day Hospital tomorrow. Posters and leaflets are already up there but there's a few more departments upstairs so I'll have a word with the receptionist on each floor. I know that at least one floor is for psychiatry and the Community Mental Health Team.

Thanks again Peter, I'll report back with any progress.

Martin.
