hey got some tips on s.a thought i'd share them

Hi i stumbled across this site looking for a phobia site and it's comforting to know i'm not as freaky as i thought. I've had huge anxiety about social situations since i was a teenager then about a year ago getting on public transport gave me panic attacks to the point where i stopped travelling. It's taken a year but i can now get on buses and tubes and am sorting out the more social side of my anxiety. I was a bit anti the meditation approach but found it really helpful to make me more aware of what was going on with me also there are a couple of books which are great -  mind over mood and the anxiety workbook, i think they are called.

Hi Lauren. Welcome to the forum.

Well done for making such wonderful progress.  :)

I'm doing a course on Mindfullness at the mo that involves some meditation and I'm really enjoying that.
I've also used 'mind over mood' and found it to be an excellent book with useful exercises.
