Hi i stumbled across this site looking for a phobia site and it's comforting to know i'm not as freaky as i thought. I've had huge anxiety about social situations since i was a teenager then about a year ago getting on public transport gave me panic attacks to the point where i stopped travelling. It's taken a year but i can now get on buses and tubes and am sorting out the more social side of my anxiety. I was a bit anti the meditation approach but found it really helpful to make me more aware of what was going on with me also there are a couple of books which are great - mind over mood and the anxiety workbook, i think they are called.
