Brand New.
« on: April 02, 2008, 02:11:31 AM »
Hello.

I've been suffering from Social Anxiety over the last few years, and I'm finally starting to kick myself into doing something about it... Afterall, it's difficult to get help when you're already terrified of getting help! Hoping to perhaps join you on one of your group meets sometime soon (when I can gain the courage).

A little more about me:
I'm a (21/F) student at Brighton Uni, living in Hove, with no friends except for the internet.  ::)

Nice to meet you all.

PS. I'm known to be rather lively online. Don't be confused; it's my only outlet for being a happy, extroverted "normal" person. I'm really nervous, awkward and silent in real life. Some people that I've spoken to online before could hardly believe how different I am..

Hi OJ. Welcome to the forum.

We're meeting twice a week now so hopefully we'll get to meet you sometime when you're ready. The meets are really laid back and it's quite emancipating to be around a bunch of people who wouldn't bat an eyelid if you ran screaming from the building .... um ..... if you know what I mean!

Anyway, we'll be at 'More' tomorrow in Brighton. It's pretty quiet at 2pm when we meet there if you fancy it. I'll buy you an orange juice?  ;D

Best wishes,
Martin. (Who is up way too late :o)

Hi OJ, Lovely to hear from you.  We were just saying in the meeting today - should we reveal just how small our meetings are?  Well, there were only 3 people at the meeting today, so it's not like we're a big group yet ... and I think that matters when you're anxious of meeting new people.  If you feel up to it, we'd love to see you there, but no pressure. Nick.
