Excellent BDD blog post
« on: April 13, 2011, 11:43:34 AM »
Check out Seaneen Molloy's blog post for an amusing and honest account of suffering, and recovering from, BDD:

I keep meaning to post something about my own experiences, but this article is pretty much spot on, and far better than my own self indulgent ramblings.

We also talked about the good things about my body.  Not the way it looked, but the way it worked.  What could my body do for me?

That is something that helped me to deal with my BDD. Starting kung fu is what really helped me let go of the final parts of my eating disorder. Because suddenly it wasn't about hurting my body any more, it was about using it to do cool stuff like kicking the **** out of something >:D I can't do triple kicks up the sports hall and back with those skinny toothpick legs I've always craved.

Aww it's a good blog, she's really honest and it seems that she can see the funny/ridiculous side.
