LETS SORT OUT BAF!
« on: December 12, 2011, 03:25:41 PM »

    Hey All!

About a month ago now, a few of us discussed Baf. A while ago Martin put on the forum he wanted some assistance on the forum. So I hope i'm not stepping on anyone's toes
BAF has done so much for me it changed my life, I want to spread to chance to others and pass on what BAF gave to me. I'm sure i'm not the only one! Lets keep BAF going, martin had been amazing running it and given so much time. I would love to give a bit back!

Hopefully i'm writing what was suggested, correct me if its wrong. These are not just my ideas but a few peoples.

Firstly was how to manage BAF, if a group for us all, agreed to individually run it once a month or so it takes the pressure off someone being there once a week,. If we have a 5/6 people to help a different person runs it each week on a rota.. I am happy to agree to come once a month and run it once a month myself.
If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself don't feel pressured too, seemed a bit of interest so i'm sure we have enough people. This person would be in charge of putting the meet up on baf and facilitating the meet

Secondly, it has been suggested baf of going off what it is about. We have all made some great friendships with each other. However it has been said we are getting to clique. Some have said BAF should perhaps go back to focusing on anxiety, being aware of new members and inviting them in, and moving away from BAF meets being a social meet for us old BAFERS! Which isn't allowing new members to be involved people have said. I think correct me if i'm wrong, the Pub after was meant to be for the social aspect.

Thirdly this was suggested by someone that we organise social event separate from the BAF social circle meets on face book. The ones on face book are just for personal meets, but would proberly over lap. So people who go to BAF can organise events on the forum such as bowling, cinema, cheap meal out and so forth. Any member can host an event. This works well on another forum i'm on. So I think this is a nice idea to encourage.
Nothing wrong eith it being social just following what people have said!

Finally the venue is crucial. Marwood is not suitable according to a few people in BAF. My suggestion is
    http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz/bystander-cafe-brighton
Reasons for this: is a window so people can see us and come on when ready, bland and good seating area. Its a cafe enviroment also. Open till 11 as well However it is on London Road, opposite open market, is this central enough?#
Any other suggestions people have to go too?
    So guys...
Who's up for running the group once a month? If you are up for running it can you agree to certain week in the month? If we have enough people it be great if we could have 1-2 reserves.
What do people think of encouraging separate social meets just for the forum separate from our own social group?
What locations do you guys suggest?
    Any further suggestions?

I've also posted it on the forum too and hopefully i sent it to everyone, if not add people!
